Floyd Mayweather Jr. didn’t earn the nickname ‘Money’ for no reason. He’s got plenty of it, alright. And he knows how to spend it well to boot.
One of the most expensive things the accomplished boxer splurges his hard-earned money on is the collection of expensive and high-performance cars he’s acquired in the span of over two decades. Here’s your peek at some of Mayweather’s prized vehicles.
Where Everything Began
The two-time WBC light middleweight champion began his love affair with luxury cars in 1996, the same year he competed at the Olympics in Atlanta. As the story goes, losing at the competition led him to go into professional boxing.
He went on to buy a 1996 600S Mercedes using his first purse winnings. The vehicle is reportedly the first one he bought as a professional boxer and holds a special place in his heart. That Mercedes car is still in his garage to this day.
As his success grew, so did his car collection. Mayweather quickly acquired more luxury wheels including more cars from the German automaker as well as other popular high-end brands.
A Taste for the Luxurious
Going into specifics, you’ll find such cars like the Bugatti Veyron, three of them in fact, in his garage. The boxer shared that two of them, which are Grand Sport Vitesses editions, cost him a total of $6.5 million to buy.
His love for fast cars also led him to start acquiring a long list of Ferrari automobiles. Some of the models that have been in his possession at one point are a Ferrari 430 Scuderia, a Ferrari 458 Italia Spider, and a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano.
Mayweather is also the proud owner of a Ferrari Enzo, a limited edition sports car that set him back $3.2 million.
Over the Decades
It’s speculated that the 43-year-old boxing champion owns about 100 cars at any given time. He reportedly tends to buy multiple versions of the same model as he prefers to have different styles.
For example, Mayweather allegedly bought three Rolls Royce Ghosts at one point as a gift for his girlfriend.
It’s probably safe to say though that the total number of vehicles he’s bought and sold for the last 25 years is definitely way more than a hundred. The owner of his favorite car dealership, Obi Okeke, can attest to this fact.
And if you want to stay up to date about the new supercars that make it into his ever-expanding collection, you can follow him on Instagram where he would often give fans a sneak peek of new purchases.
