It’s not every day that you get the chance to receive a personal gift from a celebrity you admire. Things like this ever only happen in dreams, right?

Apparently, not. And one lucky 11-year-old got to live what we can only dream of.

A Good Deed Rewarded

Hugh Weber/Instagram: Some of the letters Weber received from people all over the country was delivered by their mailman

That girl’s name is Emerson Weber, a middle schooler and Swiftie from Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

You see, Weber entered Taylor Swift’s radar when the story of her writing a thank you letter for her family’s mailman, Doug, for his service during the coronavirus pandemic made the rounds in the news.

Thus, the 30-year-old hitmaker became one of the many people whose letters arrived on Weber’s doorstep. It was Weber’s father, Hugh, who happily shared the personal letter and gift his daughter got from her idol in a Twitter thread.

According to Hugh, they didn’t really think about the package the singer sent as that scenario didn’t even occur to them. After all, they’ve been receiving a lot of things in the mail because of Weber’s good deed.

That said it’s not surprising to find out that the father and daughter got the shock of their life when they read the inscription ‘To Em. From Tay’ when they finally got to open the package.

Thoughtful Gift

In fact, Hugh said that it took him and his daughter an hour to get over their shock and peruse the box’s contents.

Inside, they found an envelope decorated with a wax seal and is hand-painted. Weber even noted that it was glued using Swift’s ‘personal glitter glue’.

The letter the envelope held was handwritten by the ‘You Need to Calm Down’ singer, who said she was both touched and honored that Weber wrote about her music in the letters she sent. However, Swift said that she thought it was more important that Weber wrote without expecting any thank yous in return. She also assured Weber that she’s set a good example for others and that the singer is proud of her.

Aside from the letter though, the pop singer packed her gift with various writing tools from wax seals and envelopes.

Grateful Fan

As can be expected, Weber and her father were overjoyed upon reading what the star wrote. However, their excitement isn’t just because they received something from a celebrity but because Swift saw the real side of Weber.
Hugh ended his Twitter story by tagging Swift to thank her from the bottom of their hearts.
