When you’re as rich as Oprah Winfrey, dropping a couple of millions, even tens of it, on a home is not a big deal. So, it’s not surprising to find out that the media mogul has accumulated a minimum of $200 million worth of real estate throughout the years.
Her property holdings in the United States reportedly spans over 1,000 acres in total.
Let’s take a look at the most stunning pieces of property Winfrey owns.
Montecito Homestead
It seems like the billionaire has taken a liking to Montecito, California. She’s bought a reported $90 million worth of real estate in the hillside neighborhood.
Her love affair with Montecito began in 2001 when she dropped $50 million for a neo-Georgian mansion that spans 23,000 square feet. She proceeded to buy more property nearby over the years.
Winfrey’s purchases include a neighboring 23-acre farm and a nearby estate that once belonged to actor ‘The Big Lebowski’ actor Jeff Bridges. All in all, her homestead now boasts of having landscaped gardens, multiple buildings, and even an orchard.
The estate also serves as the 66-year-old host’s primary residence with her longtime partner Stedman Graham. It is where she runs her business empire as well.
Hawaii Paradise
Winfrey’s real estate holdings also include properties in Maui, Hawaii. Like what she did in Montecito, the television personality bought neighboring lands ending up with over 160 acres on the island.
She began collecting properties in the Pacific paradise in 2003 when she bought two lots in Valley Isle. The purchase reportedly included a boutique bed and breakfast.
There’s also a rumor saying that Winfrey even built a secret road leading to her estate to make traveling to Maui’s other areas easier.
Mountain Escapes
When she isn’t in the mood for a warm holiday in the sun, Winfrey can turn to her many cold-weather hideaways. There’s her 66-acre Mountain Village, Colorado estate, which she purchased for $10.85 million in 2014.
She reportedly had a home constructed on the property. And while this was in the works, Winfrey purchased another house nearby so she can oversee the project.
Her second Colorado purchase is a $13.7 million mansion in the popular ski town of Telluride. The hi-tech residence comes with its own fully-equipped fitness room, a home theater, and a glass bridge that connects the master bedroom with the rest of the residence.
