It’s been over a month since the viral Twitter thread, which allegedly exposed the mean side of comedian Ellen DeGeneres, made the rounds on the Internet. However, more and more people are surfacing to tell their own stories about the beloved television host.
And this new set of stories, you’d definitely want to hear.
Ellen’s Complaint
A former producer for DeGeneres’ hit daytime talk show, ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, revealed to the New York Post how the host made her complaints about her iPhone known.
Apparently, the ‘Finding Dory’ star found it so difficult to read on her phone that she resorted to calling the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs to complain personally. The unnamed producer shared that DeGeneres’ call came after she lost her glasses.
Jobs ended up picking up her call. The business magnate died in 2011, so it’s safe to assume that this incident might have happened over nine years ago.
In the end, the producer said that the comedian is not a ‘demon’. It’s just that she lives inside an ‘incredibly privileged bubble’ making her out of touch with the rest of the world.
Former Staff Speak Out
Meanwhile, another unnamed former employee confirmed that the claims and stories of DeGeneres’ rudeness are ‘all true’. The employee also shared how irritating it is that people often think of the host as being ‘all sweetness and light’.
Although a lot of the stories about the star’s behavior from former staff remain anonymous, a bodyguard who once worked for her, Tom Majercak, came forward. Looking back at his experience working for DeGeneres during an awards show, Majercak described it as somewhat demeaning.
The bodyguard shared how the comedian didn’t acknowledge nor thanked him at all after he safely escorted her through large groups of people.
Reputation at Risk
It’s not only stories from non-celebrities that are threatening DeGeneres’ reputation though.
YouTuber and influencer Nikkie de Jager, also known as NikkieTutorials, also shared about the difference between the Ellen people see on the television and the one she met when she was interviewed on the show.
And with the way DeGeneres is allegedly treating her talk show staff amidst the coronavirus pandemic, even more stories would likely be coming out to expose her. The crew of ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ reportedly haven’t received any updates from their boss regarding their pay or work hours during the crisis.
