There’s no doubt that Ellen DeGeneres has managed to endear herself to millions of television-watching and movie-going people throughout her long career in show business. Everybody loves Ellen, right?
Apparently not.
And these same people are now coming forward to reveal a not-so-nice side to the beloved comedian.
Where It All Began

It all started when another comedian, Kevin T. Porter, took to Twitter to gather stories of DeGeneres’ alleged bad attitude. In exchange, Porter promised to donate $2 per story to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.
This unusual take on being charitable resulted in the poster receiving around 2,000 replies on his tweet, chronicling the many instances the ‘Finding Dory’ actress showed her mean side.
By the end of his donation and exposé drive, Porter admitted that he found it hard to sift through the replies and determine which are actually true. He reportedly gave away $600 to his chosen organization accounting for 300 stories.
DeGeneres hasn’t directly addressed the allegations yet, but stories from both fans and former employees continue to pour in.
Former Fans Speak Up

Among those who shared their stories with Porter are former fans who had an unfortunate run-in with the star. There’s comedian Chris Farah who said that DeGeneres almost caused her to lose her job as a server all due to some chipped nail polish.
Another actress-comedian alleged how DeGeneres almost got her fired from her serving job over some chipped nail polish. Apparently, the 62-year-old comedian wrote a day after she and her wife dined at the restaurant about her imperfect nail polish.
Worse, Farah admitted that she thought the letter wouldn’t be negative and that it would be her big break considering how she’s also an entertainer who grew up watching DeGeneres on the television.
Behind the Cameras

Unfortunately, negative stories about the host also highlighted her supposed ill-treatment of her own employees. An actor called Benjamin Siemon shared some anecdotes he’s gathered from various people.
According to one, the staff of ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ would just have to deal with the host’s attitude and allow her to be mean to them. They also commented on her being overly sensitive, especially about jokes that involve animals.
A previous guest on her talk show, makeup guru Nikkie De Jager, has also shared her experience being on the show, saying that DeGeneres didn’t even say hi to her before the segment began.
